I finally used it, and I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to use. I'm glad it works especially for the price.Bought this for a compact sealer to keep in our camper. This does not work. Tried with the bags that came with it and tried with bags I had on hand. It did remove some air (not enough) but would not seal at all. Not recommended. I am returning it.A family member let me borrow their OG FoodSaver vac sealer. Stick the bag into the opening, it automatically turns on (automatic bag detection), sucks out the air, seals the bag and shuts off. If you have all your bags lined up and dried off to make sealing a little easier, you can just grab the next, stick it in and repeat the process. So that was sort of what I was expecting with this much smaller unit. This is about the size of three-hole punch. It operates by lifting the lid, placing the bag onto the vac/heating element, snapping the lid down and the choosing a vaccuum setting. It couldn't even suck all of the air out of the bag. Add to that the awkwardness of constantly lifting the cover, snapping it in place to start, etc. It feels as though it is warped in the middle and you have to snap the left and right ends down until the plastic "clicks" into place. I just get the sense that it's going to bread as it doesn't seem sturdy. I'm just about to throw it out as it's pretty much useless. It takes for too much effort to get it to work. It didn't even seal the bag correctly - I must have went through 5 bags before I just wrapped the food in plastic wrap, put them in a zipper-sealed bag and put them in the freezer (which is what I was hoping not to have to do anymore). Suppodely you're able to use a roll of sealer bags with this, but the roll would have to just sit on the counter and then you'd double your time by having to seal each end. I get that this is smaller and less expensive than vacuum sealers even bought 10 years ago, but trust me when I say that for this application you'll be much happier saving up and buying more robust unit that has stronger suction and detects bags automatically. It is such a time saver. I know they're about 3-4x as expensive or more, but it's totally worth it.Very easy to use, works fantastic ( see photos attached )It comes with 6 pint bags. ( Mine leaked unless I sealed them just below the tear points at the top.)Sealed several bags of rice and after 24 hours they were sealed great.If you are thinking about saving food and money this is a good choice.
