I had high hopes that the mold around our washing machine boot (the rubber seal) would be mostly gone after a single application of the DOKLY Mold Remover Gel, Washing Machine Cleaner. That isn’t the case. There is a clear improvement, but it is far from gone.I used a majority of the tube in the first application and though I could try again with the remainder, I have decided to try another method. The tube was enough for the outer part of the seal and I used some on the glass window on the door. I left it for 8 hours and then used a motorized brush and just scrubbed by hand to get as much of the mold off as I could. I then realized how much is in the inside of the boot and there really isn’t nearly enough in the tube to cover it, nor does it seem effective enough to handle that level of mold.Initially, I really liked that this kit came with gloves, a cloth for wiping and a special nozzle along with the tube of mold remover. While I think the rubber gloves were very helpful, the nozzle isn’t ideal for covering a large area. A brush head of some sort, maybe silicone, would have been much more useful. I also would have liked something to scrub with rather than a soft cloth.The instructions on how to use the product safely are very clear and I appreciate that. I made sure to wear the gloves and to ventilate the area. I also made sure our pets could not enter the room.
